A LITTLE bit of paint can go a long way.
Interior designer Julie Sousa shared a video revealing how to make your home look more expensive with just a small amount of paint.
The designer referred to a bedroom with plain painted walls as "far less interesting" than those with some color thrown on them.
"What makes rooms like this so appealing?" she said.
She explained that the colorful walls in a bedroom are the focal point that catches one's attention when they enter the room.
The focal point in the bedroom she showed was a thick green stripe on the white wall behind the bed.

The green stripe was about as thick as the headboard and ran from the floor to the ceiling.
A thick blue stripe connected the green statement wall to the ceiling above the bed.
According to Sousa, a focal point on the wall allows your eyes to visually take in the room.
"The focal point is the statement in the room," she said.
