THE PROFESSIONAL recipe developer and best-selling cookbook author behind Skinnytaste has revealed her top tip for easily taking the skin off of chicken.
Her trick is a simple and mess-free way to quickly remove the skin from chicken before it gets cooked.
Gina Homolka, the founder of Skinnytaste, shared her tip via a video directed at her nearly 270,000 TikTok followers.
“Grab two paper towels, which will give you a better grip, and then simply just pull it off,” she instructed over a video showing the process.
“I do this any time I’m making chicken stew or soup.”
Her hack seems to be legitimate, as two users claimed they learned how to remove skin from chicken from Gina years ago and haven’t looked back since.
In case you’re in need of more tips on how to prepare chicken for cooking, there is plenty of information online that can help with just that.
For instance, another TikToker revealed how to easily remove tendons from chicken breast without creating a mess.

Rather than laying them out on a pan, the user suggested hanging the chicken from a grill rack in the oven to promote even cooking on all sides of the drumstick.
The person also suggested cooking vegetables or another side in a pan placed underneath the chicken in case any of the drumsticks fall.
