WE’VE all dreamt of winning the lottery and we all know it’s down to chance.

However, according to experts at LotteryTexts there are certain numbers that could increase your chances of winning.

Worldwide lottery results information site LotteryTexts analysed the winning Lotto numbers over the past year to reveal the number that are most likely to get you to win big. 

The Lotto is drawn every Wednesday and Saturday night, with the options to choose 6 numbers between 1 and 59.

Number 58 has in 18 jackpot winnings between February 2022 and February 2023. The average jackpot winnings that ‘58’ has appeared in is £7,071,360.

Being drawn in 15 jackpot winnings over the past year are 37, 57 and 39 – lucky number seven; all averaging jackpot wins in the £6 million range.

Coming in just below are 44, 33, 50, 13, 20 and 53, appearing in 13% of the jackpot winning draws since February 2022. Some may claim that 13 is an unlucky number, but according to this research, it is a common occurrence in the draw, with an average jackpot value of £5,660,847.

14, 46, 42, 21, 38 have all come up in 12 per cent of the winning jackpot combinations.

The following numbers have appeared in 12 winning jackpots, 30, 34, 11, 23.

But as well as there being common numbers, there are also ones that rarely come up.

Number 8 has only appeared 5 times in jackpot combinations over the past year, but holds the title as having the highest average jackpot prize of £9,585,732. 

Amd ‘55’ has the lowest average jackpot of £3,429,408 – not that many would consider this a loss. 

A spokesperson for LotteryTexts commented on the findings: “The Lotto was introduced in 1994 and continues to be played by millions across the UK.

It is common practice for people to choose the same numbers each week as a superstition, however this research provides insight into whether your numbers need adapting to those favoured by the draw. 

The famous question “What would you do if you won the lottery” plays on everyone’s minds, and any observation that gets people a little closer to this life changing win can be very welcomed.”
