AN AESTHETIC injector has revealed what can happen if you end up going overboard with lip filler – and what the optimal amount is.
Over the years, pumped pouts have become one of the most sought-after beauty treatments in the world. But despite their huge popularity, we have also seen our fair share of lip fillers going wrong.
It's easy to feel that more is better – but according to one expert in the field, TikTok user Dental Babe (@dental_babe8), you're better off sticking to 0.5ml of filler.
The whizz insisted that she would never do more than that on her patients – and there is a very good reason why.
The London-based guru explained to her almost 98k fans on TikTok that over time, this can create a rather unfortunate look.
''It can cause migration, which makes you look like you have a moustache,'' the pro said in her video.

She went on to say: ''There isn't enough space for the filler in the lips so it gets pushed up towards the nose.''
An example of this, Dental Babe noted, was the newly single Love Island star Olivia Hawkins, 27.
Dental Babe said that in order to fix the mess, beauty lovers like Olivia would have to first get it all dissolved and ''then refilled slowly over time''.
In her eyes, any professional who recommends going over the 0.5ml mark is a red flag and you should run away as soon as possible.

One insisted that Dental Babe and other like-minded professionals simply use this technique to cash in.

''CAP!! They only want to take more money from you cuz when you get 0.5, after the swelling u won't see much of a difference so you have to go again.''
Others thought it depended on the size of the lips, as each individual case was different.
''1ml is also okay for one sitting,'' a second added.
''You are right,'' someone else wrote.
''1ml did barely anything to me,'' a fan of a juicy pout claimed.
Recently, one lip filler fanatic experienced swelling so brutal, you could see the humongous pout behind a mask.
Desperate to give her lips more volume, TikTok user Jessica Cailey Burko (@jessicacaileyburko), from the US, decided to fork out for fillers.
However, her dream of a juicy put soon turned into a nightmare, as she experienced severe swelling.
The mortified beauty lover, who is a fitness brand associate, took to TikTok to reveal the jaw-dropping, brutal fail – and people were lost for words.
''So I got my lips done yesterday – and something bad happened,'' she said in her video.
According to the young woman, after the appointment, her pout just kept ballooning and ballooning in size – to the point she was in tears.
''This really sucks,'' Jessica said, whilst hiding behind a face mask.
But to make matters worse, there was no point in rocking a blue face mask, as people insisted they could still see the humongous pout peeking through.
Luckily, it appears that since posting the clip on social media, the brutal swelling has calmed down and Jessica looks heaps better.
However, TikTok fans could not get over just how dramatic the look was, with many claiming it was an allergy gone wrong.
''You might be allergic to lidocaine babe, or the filler. I would definitely take an allergy test just to be safe,'' said one viewer.
''This happened to me too but it goes down, you just have extreme swelling,'' another shared their horror story.

Had Our Fill campaign
Britain's Botox and filler addiction is fuelling a £2.75billion industry.
The wrinkle-busting and skin plumping treatments account for 9 out of 10 cosmetic procedures.
50% of women and 40% of men aged 18 to 34 want to plump up their pouts and tweak their faces.
Fillers are totally unregulated and incredibly you don’t need to have ANY qualifications to buy and inject them.
83% of botched jobs are performed by people with no medical training, often in unsanitary environments – with devastating results.
Women have been left with rotting tissue, needing lip amputations, lumps and even blinded by botched jobs.
Despite the dangers, there is no legal age limit for dermal filler, which is why Fabulous has launched Had Our Fill, a campaign calling for:
- fillers to be made illegal for under 18s
- a crackdown on social media sites plugging fillers
- a Government-backed central register for practitioners with accredited qualifications
