WE may be enjoying the hot weather, but it often comes with ants.

As soon as the weather warms up the bugs can get everywhere around the home – and it can often be extremely annoying to keep on top of.

Although harmless, nobody wants ants crawling around their home, and even worse creating a nest in your home.

Ants may enter your home in order to find a food source.

A scout ant will leave the nest in search of food, leaving a trail of pheromones.

Once it finds food it will follow the trail back, leaving more pheromones, which other ants will follow in their search for food.

A couple of cleaning fans recommended cinnamon powder, which can be bought from Aldi for around 65p.

One wrote: “Sprinkle Cinnamon powder where it's needed.”

Whilst someone else said: “Cinnamon sprinkled on the counter and around the sink.”

A third added: “Omg I really feel for you.

“I had them twice last year while I was pregnant.

“Flying ants too! It was really bad. I then found a nest under my sink and destroyed it.

“Then they tried to find ways of getting into my utility room so I put down cinnamon and whole cloves and so far I’ve not seen one ant.

“Thank God!”
