WHEN choosing your child's name, it can be easy to fall for one and then change your mind once they've been born.

This mum was so sure of the name she had chosen she even got her baby's things monogrammed with her initials – only for her to change her mind.

In a TikTok, which has 374.1k views, Ashley, a mum-of-two, films herself with text which explains her choice.

She wrote: "Did you name your daughter early in pregnancy, purchase all the monogrammed items and then decide once she came that you hate it and legally change her name when she was five months old?"

Calling herself out, the 37-year-old also said in the video: "Yes I did do that but it was an accident, so."

Getting baby items such as blankets, rompers and more personalised with her initials would have been expensive but living with a name she didn't like would be even more annoying.

She captioned the video with: "Cheers to not living your whole life regretting your baby’s name!"

The name she originally chose was Audrey, but now she calls her daughter, Piper.

As she explained after many asked her to reveal the names: "It was Audrey, which I still think is pretty but I just couldn’t bring myself to call her that. She’s now Piper which totally fits her!"

Ashley, who has one older son who is in school, changed her daughter's name when she was five months old.

Many parents admitted they had done something similar in the comments of her video.

As one wrote: "Almost called my baby Emily changed it to Aria totally fits her more."

"My daughter was Emilia for my entire pregnancy and when she was born we were like NOPE Aubrey!!!"

Whilst another had been influenced by names in films, saying" "I did the same thing! I named her Isabella and then twilight came out and everyone thought that’s why I named her that, it’s Arabella now."

For some, the name never came as they said: "I couldn’t settle on a name. I was in labour, couldn’t decide. Saw her- still couldn’t decide. Waited five days, couldn’t decide. Her dad named her."

While some are still pushing to change their child's name, as they said: "My youngest just turned four and I'm still trying to talk my husband into changing her middle name. I can't stand it, it doesn't fit her at all."

A few Audreys in the comments said they approved Ashley's original choice of name but she said the name just did not suit her, once she had met her.

"I chose my daughter's name during labour," admitted a fellow mother.

"This is why I waited almost 24 hours after my daughter was born to pick a name, said one mum, to which Ashley replied: "So smart!"

While another almost shamefully shared: "ahh go you for changing it. I regret the name I chose for my 13 month old. I want to change it in the worst way."
