A WOMAN with extra long locks has explained her method for eradicating split ends without having to go to the hairdressers.

The social media influencer – dubbed the Aussie Rapunzel – said she didn’t want to sacrifice her long tresses by having it cut.

So instead she came up with her own clever method, which she called “search and destroy.”

Therefore, she said her hair could remain long and strong – just like the famous fairytale character.

In a video, the Aussie Rapunzel said: “Here’s how to get rid of your split ends but still keep your hair long and healthy – I’m going to show you.”

The clip, posted to her TikTok account @theaussierapunzel, then demonstrated exactly how it’s done.

The blonde influencer explained: “This is called the search and destroy method.

“Put your hair in a loose plait and then you’ll see all your little ends sticking out.

“This makes it really easy to see any split ends that you have and then you can just chop them off.”

The Aussie Rapunzel then did exactly that as she showed how her hair was now free of the pesky dry ends.

She continued: “I do this once every couple of months and it helps keep my hair healthy without compromising on the length of my hair.

“And then once it’s done, just take your hair out of the braid and that’s it.”

And it didn’t take long for her 1.4 million followers to flock to the comment section to say they’d be giving it a go themselves.

While some said they were sceptical and that it simply shortens the split ends, others were ultimately won over.
