A MIDSIZE fashion fan went shopping in Asda to see if their swimwear range was worth the hype.

And she soon discovered they had so many swimming costumes to choose from and took home the lot to try them on – but not everything in her haul was worth keeping.

Sophie, who describes herself as a “midsize creator” on TikTok, recorded herself modelling each of the swimwear looks that had caught her eye – from brightly coloured shapewear to a popular ribbed design in brown.

The social media influencer, who can be found at @sophieclarewhite, then ran through the looks one by one, as she explained she’d picked up all of them from Asda in a size 16.

She said: “Let’s try on some midsize swimming costumes and see if we can find that perfect one.”

The first one that Sophie picked up to try on was what she described as a “basic, square neck” black costume that cost £12.

But what did she make of the simple but sleek design?

As she stood in front of the camera wearing it, she told her 21.2k followers: “Basic swimmer – I do like the cut of [the neckline].”

However, she went on to say that it was “pretty thick” around the hips and drew attention there.

She explained: “I do have stuff there but it sort of bunches it together.”

This led to Sophie saying that she’d decided this meant that while it was “fine” to take her child swimming, it didn’t cut it for on the beach.

Next, she opted to try on a tangerine coloured shapewear piece for £16, which included clever ruching around the tummy area.

“[It’s my] first time in a shaping one,” she started as she highlighted the parts she loved about the look.

These included the flattering neckline and the “crinkles” that disguised the stomach.

But there was a huge problem – the material at the back was basically transparent, leaving little to the imagination.

Sophie revealed: “It’s see through on the back.

“So great on the front – not on the back… you can see my butt crack.

“And that’s when it’s dry. Imagine when I went into the pool and it was wet…”

Sophie’s third swimming costume was exactly the same as the black design she tried on first – but this time in orange.

So did that change her mind at all?

She answered: “This one compared to the shaping one suits me better.

“It’s still a little bit tight around the bottom, but I feel it does more for my boobs – and it’s not see-through, which is great.”

“This one and the black one also have little pads in – perfect!”

Last, but by no means least, Sophie took a brown ribbed design with a waist belt off of the hanger, and explained it was her favourite and that she hoped it lived up to her expectations.

As she slipped on the in-demand item, which costs £16, she said she was a huge fan.

She excitedly said: “I love her – I love the colour, I love the belt, I love the neckline.”

But there was one glaring issue.

As Sophie showed how the straps slipped off of her shoulders and failed to stay up, she continued: “Unfortunately, she’s a bit big.

“This is not what I want when I’m going down water slides.

“It’s also baggy around here [the crotch area] as well – not ideal.”

However, she said she was keen to try on a smaller size as she’d fallen head over heels with what it looked like – especially when styled with sunglasses and a short sarong.

She concluded: “If I can get this in a size 14, I think this will be my go-to.”
