Gisele Bündchen is opening up about how her skin has changed as she’s gotten older.
In a new interview with Allure, the supermodel, who celebrated turning 40 in July, reflected on the joys, and difficulties, that come with aging.
"Age is a beautiful thing and a natural part of life, but it can also be challenging,” she said. “When I look at these changes and see a reflection of all the years I've lived so far, I feel an incredible sense of gratitude. As I've gotten older, I have grown more comfortable in my own skin, and I'm grateful for every experience, and every year of my life so far."
Of course, part of getting older means taking care of your skin.
"Taking care of your skin is a lifelong practice. I have learned that in order to have healthy skin later in life, you have to make skin care a priority when you are young," she continued. "Everyone's skin is unique, so you need to find high-quality products and a daily skin-care routine that works for you."
As for Bündchen’s skincare routine, the mother of three says one of her biggest secrets is water.
“I wash my face with water,” she told Allure, later adding that she also tries to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Besides occasionally using a facial exfoliating product, Bündchen also uses a moisturizer and eye cream in the evening — as well as Dior's Capture Totale Super Potent Serum, which she is the face off.
Bündchen also believes that in order to look and feel your best, it’s important to focus on other avenues of self-care.
“You can go and buy all the products you want," she recently told Vogue Australia, "but if you are not nourishing your body by eating nutritious food, if you are not exercising and oxygenating your blood and doing things that bring you joy, you are not going to feel good, and if you don’t feel good you are not going to look good."
