Meghan Markle attended a New York City ceremony on Tuesday evening where she wore a very form-fitting gold dress designed by Johanna Ortiz. The dress originally had straps, but the Duchess of Sussex altered the gown to remove the straps for the event.
Royal fans loved Meghan’s outfit. The altered Johanna Ortiz dress is believed to cost $2,193 or £1,758.

The original gown had a sweetheart neck and adjustable straps, but the Duchess of Sussex decided to remove the straps for the occasion.
Prince Harry and Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, accompanied her to the Women of Vision Gala, which benefits the Ms Foundation for Women and feminist movements, and where the Duchess received the 2023 Women of Vision award.
“I think removing the straps makes the dress perfect for the occasion,” said a royal fan while another one opined: “I think it would have looked better with the straps, but loving the shoes!”
Meghan paired the dress with the Tom Ford Bronze Metallic Lizard-Print Lock High Heel Sandals, which were the perfect addition to her glamorous all-gold look.
The Duchess finished her outfit with a Carolina Herrera Yellow Metropolitan Insignia Clutch which retails for $1,200 or £963.
