ELLEN DeGeneres poked fun at Meghan Markle for being a Deal or No Deal briefcase model in an unearthed skit.
The comedian – who the Duchess of Sussex has now sat down for a surprise interview with – mocked the former actress during a stand-up routine shortly after she got engaged to Prince Harry in 2017.
In a rediscovered clip, Ellen joked that her "family was going to get a little bit bigger" following the engagement news.
She told the audience: "Prince Harry ahs just announced that he has got engaged. Kate Middleton is my 15th cousin, so that make Prince Harry's fiancée my other cousin."
Ellen then took a playful swipe at Meghan as she revealed that she was once a briefcase model on game show Deal or No Deal.
"Her name is Meghan Markle, she's from Los Angeles, she's an actress, she's been on General Hospital, she's been on CSI New York," she told the crowd.
"And this is true – she was once the holder of case 24 on Deal or No Deal."
As the audience erupted into laughter, Ellen added: "Which means if Harry had picked the other model could have gotten $1million. So, darn it."
Ellen opened the skit by joking that Harry popped the question on a "royal jumbotron".
"I don't know for sure, I think he proposed to her on the royal jumbotron," she said.

"I'm not sure. I know they have one.
In the same stand-up routine, Ellen told the audience she had previously met Meghan and had even convinced her to adopt a dog.
"This is absolutely true. We have met before," she said.
"This is what she (Meghan) said about me in an interview – 'I was in LA and I went to this dog rescue place. Then Ellen and Portia de Rossi walk in. And Ellen goes 'Is that your dog'. And I said 'No" and she's like 'You have to take that dog'. So I brought him home because Ellen told me to.'
"That's amazing. I mean, she adopted a dog because I told her to.
"I don't even remember the story actually, but obviously she does and she does whatever I tell her to do, so Meghan if you're watching, I have something else to tell you – invite me to that wedding."
Now, Meghan's sit down chat with Ellen is set to air tomorrow just months after her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The Duchess of Sussex, 40, was a barrel of laughs as she joked candidly about life before joining the Royal Family in a sneak-preview clip of her appearance on the Ellen Show.
'RUTHLESS'
But a royal expert has warned Meghan's surprise interview with Ellen "will spark dread" at the Palace following the chaotic aftermath of her Oprah tell-all,
Angela Levin blasted "ruthless" Meghan as "desperate for publicity" for carrying out the interview amid the Queen's latest health scare.
The 95-year-old monarch has cancelled four public appearances in just one month – including this year's Remembrance Sunday service.
Angela said it is not the first time Meghan's interview choices have been questionable, after the "extraordinarily bad timing" of her bombshell Oprah tell all.
The expert, and author of Harry: A Biography of a Prince, told the Sun: "I think the palace dread everything she says because she can be so rude.
"The interview with Oprah was bad timing. Prince Harry's grandfather was ill. It is all about what is good to her. She's ruthless and she thinks of herself first."
But the clip of the Ellen Show chat appears a far cry from the tone struck in Meghan and Harry's explosive Oprah interview back in March, in which the couple discussed their struggles as working royals.
