“I’M the dom and you’re the sub,” says Sarah Edwards with a wicked grin as she ties a black leather bondage collar around her husband Paul’s neck.

“Actually, it’s 60/40 to me,” Paul says — and chokes as she tugs the metal lead to pull him in for a kiss.

Sarah describes herself as a “switch” — a term used in the kink community to describe a person who can be either dominant or submissive, depending on their mood.

And listening to the pair bickering over who drops the trousers in the bedroom, you would think they had been married for years.

Yet Sarah, 34, met dad-of-two Paul, 36, for the first time on Christmas Eve at Gatwick airport.

They were wearing their wedding outfits and immediately flew to Las Vegas to get hitched — nine days after hooking up on a dating app.

The whirlwind romance became an internet sensation — and their bond (no pun intended) is clear as they talk about their big day during a London photoshoot for The Sun.

But their love has come at a price. Sarah was sacked from her nanny job after topless photos emerged of her at a sex party after the wedding story broke.

The pictures, taken at Brighton’s Torture Garden event in November, show her in a white corset sitting on the lap of a masked man in bondage gear.

Sarah says: “It feels unfair. I have been a nanny for eight years and have always been good at my job.

“Just because I have a saucy side doesn’t make me a bad person. Everyone is entitled to a private life.

“The family who sacked me are shallow-minded. I think they’re worried about how it reflects on them.”

Speaking about her decision to marry Paul so soon after meeting him, Sarah says: “It’s bonkers but we are soul mates.”

They matched on dating app Bumble — where women have to make the first move — and spoke “for hours” on the phone.

Paul, a trainee electrician, proposed at the airport, getting down on one knee and presenting an £800 vintage diamond cluster ring.

For their Christmas Day ceremony at the Bellagio Hotel in Vegas, Sarah wore a £100 wedding dress she bought off Ebay. She had spent an extra £150 to have it altered.

The pair had their first kiss after they got hitched — and their first romp that night.

Sarah says: “People might think that makes me easy. But weirdly it was quite traditional as we were husband and wife.”

Paul adds: “It was great. If there was a chandelier in our room we would have been swinging from it.”

After that night, they had sex three times a day and started role playing and BDSM.

Sarah splashed out on sizzling Victoria’s Secret undies during their five-day stay.

She smiles and reveals: “I’m wearing a matching set today. I don’t own trousers or jeans. I only wear dresses and skirts. You will find no Bridget Jones knickers in my drawers.”

Paul says: “Sarah spoils me with matching underwear. The only thing I need to change is my Next pants.”

The pair bought each other private lap dances as wedding presents.

Once back in the UK, Paul moved out of his rented house in Chichester, West Sussex, and into Sarah’s pad in Tunbridge Wells, Kent — where she still lives with her two exes, also called Paul.

She says: “My first message to Paul on Bumble was, ‘I’ve already got two Pauls in my life — not in a relationship sense. Why not add a third?’”

“He replied, ‘I’ve heard the third Paul is always the best’.” Paul spoke to her via Facetime and says: “It all sounded too good to be true but she was who she said she was in the pictures.

Unfortunately for Sarah, she couldn’t really see me as my room was too dark.

“She told me that she was into kink and liked BDSM and asked if I would go to a sex party with her.

“I’ve never done anything like that before but I have thought about it.

“It was refreshing. Most girls pretend they’ve got a high sex drive when you first meet them, then you discover it is all a pretence.

“We are emotionally connected as well as physically, and that makes the sex even better.” After a few days talking on the phone, Paul joked he wanted to marry Sarah.

She says: “I’m impulsive so replied ‘don’t tempt me’. Then we both just thought, let’s do this.
“Some couples spend years together and don’t know each other.

“I confided in Paul about everything, my high sex drive, failed relationships and my infertility. He didn’t judge me once.

“I liked the fact he was adventurous and up for anything. I was sex-starved with my exes.”

Paul adds: “We have both had difficult pasts. Sarah was adopted and I was homeless for six months when I was 17.

“My mum left when I was young and I was raised by my dad. Because of this I do not enter relationships lightly. We thought if we married at the beginning then we would fight for our relationship when the going gets tough.”

Sarah is going to design Paul’s “outfit” for the next Torture Garden party on Valentine’s Day.

She says: “I went in November with my ex. We spent a lot of time in the bondage room with all the whips and chains.

“I was running around putting glitter on girls’ bums.”

While Sarah has lost friends over her whirlwind romance, her adoptive parents have been supportive.

She says: “They spoke to Paul and thought he sounded like a nice guy. Paul’s dad thought it was a bit of a rush but he has also been supportive. I’ve met one of his daughters and we got on really well and I’m meeting his other soon.”

Sarah, who is originally from New Zealand, wants to renew their vows in a different country every year. They plan to do it in the UK this summer so friends and family can be there.

Sarah says: “I was married when I was 24. At the time I knew it was a mistake but I went through with it for everyone else.

“We were best friends but not in love and broke up six months after our £10,000 bash — where over 150 people attended.”

Last February, Paul lost £20,000 after his ex-fiancé pulled out four weeks before the big day.

He and Sarah haven’t had an argument yet but she is miffed by his habit of brushing his teeth in the shower.

They both want children but will not be able to conceive naturally.

In 2011, Sarah had to have her fallopian tubes removed. As Paul has two teenage daughters from a previous relationship, the couple will not get NHS treatment.

They want to move into their own flat soon — but Sarah, who has a science degree, admits: “I’m struggling financially after losing my job. I’m hoping other families will still give me a chance.”

If all else fails, Sarah jokes that she may become a professional dominatrix.

“Well, I am used to telling off naughty boys,” she says. “Especially this one.”
