A WEDDING is arguably all about the bride, and it’s the one day she gets to dress up and look like a princess.
One bride-to-be wanted to make sure the day was all about her – just in case – by banning her bridesmaid from wearing any make-up.
A wedding is one occasion where beauty products are expected to be worn, and professional make-up artists are drafted in to make sure everyone in the bridal party looks their best.
But one bride decided she didn’t want anyone else to look too good, in case they overshadowed her.
An irate bridesmaid shared some messages she received from her friend, dubbing her a “bridezilla”.
She began by enquiring whether she could “ask a favour”.
After her friend tells her to go ahead, she then drops the bombshell.
The bride bizarrely says: “I don’t mean to sound weird but can you not wear make-up for my wedding.”
The friend reveals she doesn’t normally wear much make-up anyway, but points out it is a wedding where it’s expected.
She replies: “Why? I don’t wear make-up regardless but isn’t everyone getting their make-up done?”
The bride then explains: “Yeah but I don’t want you to outshine me.”
That’s not the worst request though, as she adds: “And not get your hair done.”
The bridesmaid repeats the request to make sure she’s understood, saying: “So you want me to be [in] a formal dress with my hair natural and no make-up?”
Delighted, the bride says: “Yes please. Are you okay with that?
“Because it should be about me that day and [I] don’t want anyone to look better.”
The conversation was shared to Reddit, where its racked up dozens of comments – and people are horrified.
One person said: “Grown women who do this need counselling.”
Someone else asked: “Is her friend like a model or something? Why would her appearance make her the center of attention anyway?”
A third pointed out: “I feel a lot worse for the bridesmaids she didn’t text…”
This person said: “The bride will shine even if one or all the bridesmaids are prettier. I never understood why they think they won't.”
And another added: “The best response would be to not show up. Problem solved.”
Meanwhile this bride was shamed for wearing her wedding ring – even though it was too small for her.
Plus this guest wore a floor length white frock to her pal’s wedding, and people can’t tell who is the bride.
And this bride was distraught after reading her bridesmaids secret chat where they shamed her engagement ring as ‘tacky’.
