Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s wedding was reportedly missing one very important person: Adam Levine. On July 3, Gwen and Blake confirmed that they tied the knot at the “Honey Bee” singer’s Tishomingo ranch in Oklahoma. Page Six reports the nuptials were “intimate,” with the Today show’s Carson Daly officiating the affair. You can see a few shots of the event by Jeremy Bustos of Studio This Photography below.

The guest list for the event may have been small, and according to the outlet, Adam was not in attendance. Even so, Blake and Adam were longtime frenemies on The Voice before the Maroon 5 frontman walked away from the NBC series in 2019. What’s more, Blake had been talking about Adam performing at their big day for months. Plus, Adam hinted on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that he would be there.

So why was Adam not at Blake and Gwen’s wedding?
Per Page Six, it sounds like Adam was allegedly in Miami recording new music when the ceremony took place. He reportedly spent the weekend with his wife Behati Prinsloo and their daughters. What’s more, The Daily Mail reports Adam enjoyed a workout with his live-in personal trainer Austin Pohlen on Saturday. Austin pretty much confirmed this to be the case when he posted a few workout clips of Adam to his Instagram page.
Of course, there is a chance that Adam had never actually committed to performing at Blake and Gwen’s wedding. On SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up, Adam responded to Blake’s performance request by joking, “They can’t afford me.” Adam also added that while he’d “love” to perform for their big day, the couple hadn’t genuinely asked him to do so.
“They won’t ask me, though. They’ll probably get like Luke Bryan or somebody,” Adam lightheartedly said at the time. Later on in that same interview, the “Girls Like You” singer revealed that he was watching Seth Meyers on TV when Blake appeared and told the late-night host that Adam would “have to get the band together and come and play our wedding.”

“They’re talking about marriage and he’s like, ‘Yeah, I’m gonna get Adam Levine to come play, he doesn’t know it yet,’ and I’m like sitting in bed eating popcorn and I’m like, ‘Man, f–k you, I’m not gonna play at your wedding,'” Adam quipped at the time.
Who knows what the full story is, but the most important thing is that it looks like Gwen and Blake had a wonderful day celebrating their nuptials, and that’s all that really matters.
