Late superstar Whitney Houston‘s 1992 hit “I Will Always Love You” has surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube.
“I Will Always Love You” becomes the fourth song and first solo artist song from the 1990s to reach the 1 billion view milestone.
Other songs from that era to join the “1 billion club” include Guns N’ Roses‘ “November Rain,” Nirvana‘s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and The Cranberries‘ “Zombie.”
“I Will Always Love You” was originally written by Dolly Parton in 1973. However, the song’s popularity further increased after Houston recorded another version of “I Will Always Love You” for the 1992 film The Bodyguard.
Houston’s single spent a then-record-breaking 14 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and is also one of the bestselling singles of all time.
