The CW just revealed their 2019 – January 2020 television schedule, and fans are anxiously waiting for updates about some new and returning shows, including Arrow spinoff Green Arrow and The Canaries and Riverdale spinoff Katy Keene.
Rest assured, however: the shows are still in process, according to Mark Pedowitz on a call on Thursday (May 14), via E!.
There are “active discussions” with the studio about Green Arrow and the Canaries with Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy and Juliana Karkavy according to the exec, but it has not yet been ordered to series. Still, that and The 100 prequel series are “very much alive.”
As for Katy Keene, which stars Lucy Hale as the title character, the network has “extended its pickup option to see how well the show does once its available to stream in its entirety on The CW’s digital platforms and HBO Max once that streamer debuts in late May,” according to the report.
The CW exec says that while he was “incredibly pleased with the creative, the linear ratings have been soft. We’d like to see it perform a little bit better,” he admitted.
There’s also the Lost Boys series, which is still in development. He said he “remains keen on the project and development and production has been rolled,” according to the report.
