The National recently shared an animated video for their song “Laugh Track,” featuring Phoebe Bridgers.
“Laugh Track” is the title track of the band’s new album, which was surprise-released back in September.
The video for the track was directed and animated by Bernard Derriman, who is known for his work on “Bob’s Burgers,” with Adam Phillips credited for 3D animation. In the visual, a couple sit and asses their present circumstance, but they are swallowed by smiley blob creatures.
In press materials, Matt Berninger said of Bridgers’ contribution, “Her voice is the soft edge of the song. It takes some of the snarky, sarcastic bitterness out of it and makes it sweet and gentle.”
