Addressing the PDA-filled pictures of him, his girlfriend and the ‘Creed’ actress, the ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ director says that ‘it’s fine’ since ‘everything goes away pretty quick’ on the internet.
AceShowbiz –Taika Waititi has broken his silence on the swirling photos of him kissing Rita Ora and Tessa Thompson. Having learned that the PDA-filled pictures of him with his girlfriend and the “Creed” actress had circulated online, the “Thor: Love and Thunder” director insisted that he was “doing nothing wrong.”
In a new interview with Sydney Morning Herald, the 45-year-old filmmaker was asked if the three-way kiss snaps that spread online upset him. He casually replied, “Not really. I think in the world of the internet, everything goes away pretty quick.” He continued, “And also, ‘is it that big a deal?’ No, not really. I was doing nothing wrong.” He also pointed out that “it’s fine.”
While Taika remained unbothered by the photos, Marvel senior executives were reportedly left unimpressed and reprimanded him. An insider from “Thor: Love and Thunder” production told the Daily Telegraph that the pics are “not exactly the image they’re looking to project in relation to one of their biggest franchises.”
The insider further claimed that the “Jojo Rabbit” producer is known for being a “party animal”. Still, the images, which led to open relationship rumors between him, the “Lonely Together” singer and the “Men In Black: International” actress, allegedly “crossed a line” for the company bosses.
The images saw Taika kissing Rita while he was wrapping his arm around Tessa’s body after a party at his Sydney home. Another shot displayed “The Voice Australia” judge sitting nose-to-nose with the “Westworld” star as the latter rested her legs on the British singer’s lap.
In a third picture, the filmmaker could be seen getting close to the 37-year-old American native as if he was going to kiss her. The trio reportedly locked lips after partying through the night during a break from filming the upcoming Marvel sequel “Thor: Love and Thunder”, which is scheduled for a May 2022 release.
