Following her return to ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, the 62-year-old mezzo-soprano takes to Instagram to further address her medical scare that she had in 2022.

AceShowbiz –Susan Boyle went through a rocky road before returning to “Britain’s Got Talent” stage. Following her performance in the show’s season 16 finale, the Scottish singer revealed that she couldn’t speak or sing after suffering a stroke last year.

The “BGT” alum took to her Instagram page to celebrate her “special” night on the show. In the same post, she further opened up about her health issues and how she “worked so hard” to get her “speech and singing back.”

“This evening was even more special for me as in April of 2022 I had a stroke,” she wrote in the caption accompanying photos of her return on the competition show. “For the past year I have worked so hard to get my speech and singing back, with the sole aim of being able to sing on stage again & tonight my hard work & perseverance paid off, singing the song that started it all, ‘I Dreamed A Dream.’ “

During the season finale that aired on Sunday, June 4, Susan returned to the show to perform “I Dreamed a Dream” with the West End cast of “Les Miserables”. She skyrocketed her career when she sang the song as a contestant on “BGT” in 2009. Although she didn’t win the competition, she went on to release a number of best-selling albums.

Asked how it felt to be back on the show, Susan said, “It feels great.” She then revealed her health issue, “It’s extra special for me, actually. Because last April there, I suffered a minor stroke.” The mezzo-soprano added, “And I fought like crazy to get back on stage,” she continued. “And I have done it.”

“Unbelievable,” judge Simon Cowell said of her return. “Susan, we owe you so much,” he added, admitting he knew she was previously ill. He went on praising the “Wild Horses” singer, “But if anyone was gonna come back, you were gonna come back because we wouldn’t be the same without you. You are amazing.”
