Strictly Come Dancing winner Stacey Dooley shared a photo of her new sofa on Instagram – and soon found herself on the receiving end of some Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen like critiques. the brunt of some outspoken opinions.
Stacey lives in London with her partner Kevin Clifton and often takes to Instagram to share photos of her interior design as the pair are currently renovating their home.
So far fans have been loving her style, especially the minimalist look with a sheepskin rug, large mirror and fireplace, but the new sofa sparked some seriously strong reactions.
One fan compared the piece of furniture to an alien from Dr Who, writing: “The sofa does look like something that may attack an unsuspecting victim in a Jon Pertwee era Doctor Who episode.”
Another said: “That sofa looks like my stomach after birthing my twins."
Some fans even suggested that it might be a blow up sofa, with on writing: “Is it inflatable?”
However the unusual sofa does have some fans, as one Instagram user responded: “Oh my gosh, I’ve been obsessed with the Togo sofa forever!!! Is it comfy?? Room looks gorgeous x."
Another pointed out that it would be very comfortable, saying: “For anyone that hasn’t sat in a Toga sofa, they are extremely comfortable.”
The Togo sofa is a design classic, first created over 40 years ago by Michel Ducaroy for furniture company Ligne Roset. They’re available to order and can cost up to £10,000, though Stacey has been known to buy furniture second hand.
It's described online as “a seat dreamt up especially for afternoon siestas or lazy evenings spent in the greatest of comfort".
Stacey recently celebrated her 35th birthday with an intimate bash at her home, and took to Instagram to share photos from the evening.
Ahead of the bash, she showed off her beautiful living room, which had been transformed for the evening into an intimate dining space.
Two large tables had been pushed together and long benches placed either side. A white table cloth, silver cutlery, flowers and candles completed the look.
Stacey recently shocked her followers by revealing she’d cut her trademark long red hair into a trendy bob. She revealed the new look as part of an ad post with Clairol, as she’s a Nice’n'Easy brand ambassador.
"Me and @clairol_uk_ire have been BUSY," the 35 year old captioned the image.
"We freshened up my colour (obvs using my shade 8WR golden auburn) and then chopped it all off. I'm SOOOOO delighted with it!"
Fans were quick to share their love for her new shorter look, with one writing: "Wow, LOVE the short hair," one fan enthused, while another added, "Omg lovely… you've had lots cut off!"
