Scorpions recently released a new single, “Shining of Your Soul,” from their upcoming album, Rock Believer, due out February 25.
“In the backyard of my soul/ There’s a charming little home/ And that’s where all the trouble goes/Where all the trouble goes. In the center of my heart/There’s a place that keeps you warm/That’s where all my loving goes/Where all my loving goes,” go the lyrics.
“Once we made the decision to make a new album, I started lyrics without any music,” singer Klaus Meine recently told Ultimate Classic Rock. “The idea was, ‘C’mon, give me a cool riff,’ you know? You have the songs, you have the lyrics and hopefully, you guys come back and give me some great music.”
It was the same with ‘Shining of Your Soul.’ Lyrics first, and I think Rudolf [Schenker] came up with this wonderful riff and this wonderful groove, which is like a Scorpions rock reggae [kind of sound].” he added. “It’s a very typical Scorpions song in that way.
It has a different vibe and a different feel, but it’s one of the cool songs on the record.”
Scorpions had earlier this month shared “Seventh Sun,” the third single from the band’s 19th studio album, Rock Believer. The band had last month dropped the title track for the album after dropping the first single “Peacemaker” in November.
Rock Believer is the band’s first release since 2015’s Return to Forever.
