In a resurfaced viral video, the ‘Blade Runner 2049’ actor awkwardly brushes off his co-star, who tries to slip his hand around Ryan’s waist while posing for photographers.
AceShowbiz -As their movie “Barbie” has become one of the hottest topics these days, Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu‘s off-screen interaction has also garnered attention. A clip of the actors’ awkward interaction on red carpet has resurfaced online, sparking debate among fans.
In the video, the duo posed for photographers at the film’s press day in Canada last month. Being friendly, the “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” star tried to slip his hand around his co-star’s waist.
The “Crazy, Stupid, Love.” actor apparently wasn’t too fond of the gesture, looking down at Simu’s hand and stepping back as he appeared to brush off his co-star. He seemingly told the MCU star, “Don’t hold me there, man. I mean, do you want me to touch you like that?”
Simu was heard responding, “You don’t what – oh, it’s too tender? Fair enough,” before he removed his arm away from Ryan. The two then continued posing for photographers with their hands in their pockets.
After the video went viral, many couldn’t help share their two cents on the seemingly awkward exchange. “Oh, I’d literally never show my face again,” one Twitter user spoke from the point of view of Simu.
Another said of Ryan, “he was so mad after life you can see it in his face.” A third alleged, “Okay is it me or has Ryan gosling come off very arrogant for this entire press tour???”
“How are they gonna do this in the movie but Ryan won’t let him put his hand around his waist?” another wondered, referring to Ryan’s shirtless brawling scene in the movie. Another defended him though, noting, “I mean you supposed to ask before you touch someone.”
Someone else speculated that the two actors were just in characters at the red carpet event, claiming, “I think it’s their characters playing like they hate each other cause they are in competition with each other in the movie. It ain’t that deep.”
