Robert Plant played Led Zeppelin‘s classic “Immigrant Song” at the end of his headlining set at the Secret Solstice festival in Iceland’s capital Reykjavik.
The former Led Zeppelin vocalist sang the song for the first time in 23 years, after his performance on February 9, 1996 during a tour with Jimmy Page.
“Thank you culture, way back, for the inspiration,” Plant told the crowd.
“We went to Iceland, and it made you think of Vikings and big ships. And bang, there it was -‘ Immigrant Song!'” Plant said of the lead single from Led Zeppelin III.
The song was written after playing a gig in Iceland in 1970.
Meanwhile, Led Zeppelin recently announced a documentary to mark band’s 50th anniversary.
