The ‘We Found Love’ songstress throws expletives at an Instagram follower who disagrees with her when she encourages people to ‘go vote’ for ‘the change you want.’
AceShowbiz –Rihanna may not be an American, but she’s all for a change for better America through voting. Having shown her support for the Black Lives Matter movement in the wake of George Floyd’s tragic death, she followed it up by urging people to vote to make a change.
On Tuesday, June 2, she took to her Instagram page to post the names of states that were having their primary elections that day. She wrote in the caption, “VOTE. Ya ain’t got s**t else to do man! Get yo a** off the couch and go vote!!! I don’t wanna hear another excuse!! Stop believing that your vote and voice don’t matter! This the illest way to protest…vote for the change you want!!!”
But one person disagreed with her and dismissed her plea, writing in the comment section, “Voting ain’t gon change s**t.” Not having it, RiRi quickly clapped back at the said user and replied to the comment, “sick of hearing this! Ya know what ain’t gon change s**t? Not doing s**t!!!!”
Earlier on Tuesday, Rih supported Blackout Tuesday by shutting down sales of all her Fenty brands. Her Fenty Beauty, Savage x Fenty and Fenty lines also paused production on Tuesday in honor of the Black Lives Matter movement.
“we ain’t buying s**t!!! and we ain’t selling s**t neither!! gang gang! #BLACKOUTTUESDAY AF!!! @fenty @fentybeauty @savagexfenty,” she announced on Instagram, along with a plain black image.
Rihanna has previously spoken out against police brutality after George, a 46-year-old African-American man, was killed by a police officer during arrest in Minneapolis. She posted on Saturday, May 30, “For the last few days, the magnitude of devastation, anger, sadness I’ve felt has been overwhelming to say the least! Watching my people get murdered and lynched day after day pushed me to a heavy place in my heart!”
“To the point of staying away from socials, just to avoid hearing the blood curdling agony in George Floyd’s voice again, begging over and over for his life!!! The look of enticement, the pure joy and climax on the face of this bigot, murderer, thug, pig, bum, Derek Chauvin, haunts me!!” she continued, calling out the police officer who pressed his knee on George’s neck.
The Barbadian singer went on sharing her reaction to the tragedy, “I can’t shake this! I can’t get over an ambulance pulling up to an arrest, a paramedic checking a pulse without removing the very thing that’s hindering it! Is this that f**king normal??? If intentional MURDER is the fit consequence for ‘drugs’ or ‘resisting arrest’….then what’s the fit consequence for MURDER???! #GeorgeFloyd #AhmaudArbery #BreonnaTaylor.”
