After Countdown host Rachel Riley, 34, was slammed by an online troll for being a “disgrace,” the TV presenter has now responded to the comments saying it has been “a long couple of years”. The Channel 4 star jokingly said how it is “always nice” to hear from her fans.

Rachel, who is currently at home with her husband Pasha Kovalev, 40, and their baby daughter Maven during the coronavirus lockdown, decided to confront the negative comments she had recently received on Twitter.
It all came after one of Rachel’s followers wrote to her: “Apologise to Corbyn you absolute t***. People like you if there’s a god should be going to hell.
“Absolute disgrace to humanity.”
Rachel, who first appeared on Countdown when she was 22-years-old, responded: “Always nice to hear from fans.”

Soon after, fans and loyal followers of the star rushed to give her support and have her back.
One wrote to the mother-of-one: “He forgot the #BeKind sign off,” while another added: “They are obviously a fool!
“I hope that you are all well x,” they continued.
One of Rachel’s followers applauded her for addressing the problem as they said: “Well done taking on these people, Rachel.”
The Mathematics graduate, who was pleased to see so much support behind her, thanked those for the “supportive” messages.
As she thanked her followers, she showed a thread of replies to one comment in particular that said: “What do they mean ‘People like you,'” which led one to reply with: “People who do sums.”
Writing to her loyal fans, Rachel added: “Thanks for the supportive messages folks, it’s been a long couple of years.”
Meanwhile, Rachel recently revealed how some of her friends had knitted some clothes for her baby daughter Maven, who she shares with Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Pasha.

Alongside two pictures of Maven, Rachel wrote to her 661,000 Twitter followers: “I just mentioned on @C4Countdown, we’ve had some gorgeous things knitted for baby Mave by our lovely viewers and friends.
“Unfortunately some bits reached me without the maker’s contact details, so if I haven’t thanked you, we’d like to so please get in touch!”
Delighted to see a new appearance of Maven, one follower wrote to the presenter: “Mave is gonna have as many outfits as you soon enough, Rach.
“Hope you, Mave and Pasha are all doing OK.”

Another added: “Look at those cheeks!”
While Rachel is best known for presenting on Countdown, the TV personality also starred in Strictly Come Dancing in 2013, where she and Pasha first met.
The couple welcomed Maven Aria Riley Kolavena on December 15 last year.
The 8 of 10 Cats sensation announced their baby news on her Instagram page as she revealed: “2 weeks after we were expecting her this little one finally made an appearance!”
Rachel concluded her statement by writing: “She’s absolutely perfect and Pasha and I are in newborn bliss. Couldn’t be more in love.”
