Netflix is reportedly nearing a deal to acquire Shout It Out Loud, a biopic about iconic rock band KISS.

The biopic will be directed by Joachim Rønning, the Norwegian director popular for directing Kon-Tiki, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. The script was written by Ole Sanders, based on a previous draft penned by W. Blake Harron.

Shout It Out Loud, which gets its title from the band’s hit song off their 1976 album Destroyer, will be a co-production of Mark Canton’s Atmosphere Entertainment and Universal Music Group.
Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley will closely collaborate with the project.

“The movie will go all the way back to Queens, New York, where Simmons and Stanley were a couple of misfit kids who formed an unlikely friendship before starting their own band with guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss,” Deadline reports.
