Monty Don, 65, has stunned fans by sharing a photo of part of his garden, which has been hit by floodwater, snow, and ice over the past 10 days. The Gardeners’ World presenter assessed his outdoor space and revealed to his 751,000 Instagram followers that his plants, hedges, and grass “didn’t seem too bothered” in spite of the extreme weather conditions.

Monty’s picture showed his adorable pet Yorkshire terrier, Patti, enjoying a walk down the centre of the garden path.

The path was fringed with beautiful snowdrops, while the grass looked green and healthy.

The horticulturalist wrote alongside his snap: “This has been under floodwaters, snow and ice all in the past 10 days.

“Doesn’t seem too bothered.”

Fans seemed surprised that Monty’s garden seemed completely unaffected by the wintry weather.

One person wrote: “Isn’t it great how the garden recovers. And Patti doesn’t care.”

Another added: “It’s remarkable to me that the soil doesn’t become rancid.”

A third fan commented: “Snowdrops are amazing.”

A fourth person replied: “Pleased to hear it, just waiting for all our snow to disappear and [fingers crossed] all will be well underneath.”

“That has recovered miraculously,” a fifth fan gushed.

Unfortunately for the gardening expert, who lives with his wife Sarah and their two dogs in Herefordshire, this isn’t the first time he’s suffered a flood outside his home.

Last month, Monty took to social media and posted pictures of his garden underwater.

He reassured fans that although it looked “daunting”, it was something that happened quite regularly in the area.

Alongside one snap of the heavily flooded garden, he wrote: “All very familiar for us in this low-lying, watery place, but somehow special and slightly daunting every time.”

Additional pictures showed different parts of his estate underwater.

A photo from his bedroom window captured the surrounding meadows.

Monty also took to Twitter to speak about the flood water, which he described as a “minor inconvenience”.

His tweet, which he shared in view of his 207,800 followers, read: “Just a note: Longmeadow is surrounded by water meadows that have flooded for thousands of years.

“It does no harm at all to the meadows or the garden other than minor inconvenience. I think it’s beautiful.”

Monty previously showed a photo of a brown pot in his garden, which was placed near some trees, and surrounded by water.

The pot and trees could be seen in reflections in the abundance of water which surrounded them.

Monty simply captioned the snap: “Stranded.”
