Diego Bivero-Volpe and film director Charlotte Carroll shared that their daughter Aurelia has tragically died from blood cancer.

The former Made In Chelsea star and his partner Charlotte documented her struggle to conceive in her film The Topic, which was released in 2021, but despite the couple’s fears of not being able to have children, Aurelia was born in April 2022.

By September of that year, their daughter was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (T-Cell) – an aggressive type of cancer that affects white blood cells.

Charlotte and Diego launched a GoFundMe appeal to raise funds to finance medical treatment to fight the disease.

Earlier this month, the couple sadly announced that their daughter had died.

In an emotional update via their appeal page, Diego revealed his daughter died in his arms.

He wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you of our darling Aurelia’s passing. Our little girl went in peace surrounded by loved ones and in the loving embrace of her mother and I.

“In true Aurelia fashion, she left us not with a cry but with a big beautiful smile – frolicking fearlessly onto her next adventure. As we support her through to that next journey wherever that may be, her light continues to guide us through ours, shinning bright with her characteristic joy and love.”

Diego described Aurelia as a “warrior” who the family will always admire, adding he remained in awe of “resilience, intelligence, beauty and good cheer even through the toughest of times”.

He continued: “Thanks in no small part to your incredible support, we were able to fight alongside her to provide her the most possible time and comfort. Our thanks and admiration for the contributions made here are boundless.

“Without them, the armies of doctors, nurses, healers, therapists, specialists and researchers that saw to her care would not have been possible.”

Charlotte and Diego’s appeal had raised over £200,000 – and the couple vowed to donate unused funds to the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.

They explained in their appeal: “Any funds not used we will donate to Great Ormond Street in a lump sum. We cannot express what this means to us, and to Aurelia.”
