Proud of her talent and achievement, the ‘Truth Hurts’ hitmaker tells the hater that she’s popular ‘because I write good songs and I’m talented and perform high energy.’
AceShowbiz –Lizzo‘s confidence has once again proven to be her ultimate weapon in facing online hate. The raptress has just clapped back at a critic who basically claimed that her popularity isn’t because of her talent but because people’s glorification of obesity and that fans have been lying to her all this time.
The critic posted on Twitter, “#Lizzo popular is because there is an obesity epidemic in America. Rather than encouraging people to do better, we are simply lying to them and telling them that they are just fine the way they are. Unfortunately, Many of these people are dying from diabetes and heart disease.”
He also slammed her performance on “Saturday Night Live“, comparing her to a slave, “Watching #Lizzo dressed in all Gucci on SNL singing about the joys of being fat and raunchy makes me think of slaves performing for massa and his friends on the plantation. ‘We are here to serve you in every way imaginable. Just keep bringing dem biscuits.’ “
But Lizzo is aware of her own self-worth. She tweeted back to the critic, “I’m popular because I write good songs and I’m talented and perform high energy hour and a half shows filled with love. The only person who needs to do better is you. Keep my name out ya mouth & look in the mirror before you come for me. Here’s the attention you ordered.”

I don’t care what letters are in front of your name, learn when to mind your business or how to listen.”
Another slammed the critic, “Dr. Watkins out here addressing your fine-ness like he has an MD behind his name. Sir, your PhD is in finance. @lizzo he just big mad that no amount of his work will reach the people you reach, through love. Be well, beautiful. Xx.”
Acknowledging Lizzo’s talent, another user posted, “For real I learned who you were because I kept hearing songs and thinking ‘damn this is good, who is this’ and looking up the artist and it was Lizzo. Didn’t know what you looked like. It’s all about the music.”
Someone else raved about the 31-year-old star, “Man… Lizzo’s cardio is off the charts. I dare these haters to try to keep up with her dance, twerk, flute and singing routine. That ish ain’t easy. Furthermore when I was ‘depressed’ I was super ‘skinny’ and people said I looked good. I was not heathy.”
