Layton Williams has taken a swipe at particular Strictly Come Dancing fans who have sent him abuse across social media. The star’s sentiments came after receiving a perfect score for his latest dance number.
This weekend, Layton, 29, and 25-year-old Nikita Kuzmin danced a Charleston to ‘Fit as a Fiddle’ by Gene Kelly and Donald O’Connor. Following the routine, Craig Revel Horwood gave the pair a standing ovation and claimed it was the best Charleston he had ever seen on the show.
Despite also being awarded 10 points from Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton du Beke, it appears the West End actor still receives negative comments across social media. Ahead of Sunday evening’s results, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to have his say.
Layton quote retweeted a sentiment from dancer Robin Windsor, who had asked his 132,800 followers to “stop” their hatred for the star. The 44-year-old wrote: “The poor guy sees all these comments everyone tags him in – how is that supposed to make him feel.”
In reply, the Strictly star said: “Thanks Robin. Luckily I have thick skin but it’s so draining that so called ‘Strictly fans’ go out of their way to drag me down to lift others up.

“Their fave couples would be SO embarrassed by their comments & so should they,” he continued.
“They’ll never dim my shine.”
The Bad Education actor added that he was sending “big love” to the former BBC professional for his support.
Layton’s comment comes after he and Nikita sparked concern after breaking down live on air.
Following their perfect-scoring Charleston, Claudia Winkleman asked the Ukrainian-Italian dancer why his partner deserved to lift the coveted Glitterball Trophy.
Nikita emotionally replied: “I know he makes it seem easy, but you are the most hardworking person I’ve been in a room with.
