Kim Kardashian has reacted to a fan’s comment about her husband Kanye West’s apology for airing their ‘private matter’ on social media.
The Gold Digger rapper embarked on a scathing Twitter rant last week stating he had wanted a divorce for two years, after Kim had a business meeting with rapper Meek Mill at a hotel. He then called out her mother Kris Jenner and said he refused to allow their children to pose for Playboy magazine.
Prior to that, he disclosed at his presidential campaign rally that he and Kim had considered aborting their eldest child, daughter North.
Kanye, 43, issued a public apology to Kim via Twitter last night, writing: ‘I would like to apologise to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a private matter.
‘I did not cover her like she has covered me. To Kim I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me. Thank you for always being there for me.’
One fan of the couple responded to Kanye’s apology: ‘I love you both so much.’
Kim, 39, was not tagged in Kanye’s apology tweet but was clearly scrolling through the comments as she liked the message from the follower.
However, she did not comment on Kanye’s message itself.
It has been a stressful couple of weeks for the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, who said she and her family were ‘powerless’ amid Kanye’s bi-polar episode.
Addressing his recent behaviour, Kim said in a statement: ‘I’ve never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy. But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health.
‘Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behaviour know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor.’
She continued: ‘People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgemental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try.
‘He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressure being being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder.
‘We as a society talk about giving grace to the issue of mental health as a whole, however we should also give it to the individuals who are living with in times when they need it the most.’
She ended the statement by asking for ‘compassion and empathy’ for her family.
It’s believed Kim and Kanye are yet to reunite as the rapper is currently staying at his ranch in Wyoming, while the KKW Beauty founder remains in California with their four children – North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.
