Kim Kardashian West got real about everything it took to get all four of her children posed and ready for her family Christmas card this year.

The SKIMS founder revealed while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that her eldest daughter, North West, had a bit of a temper tantrum the day of the family photo shoot, which resulted in North having to be Photoshopped into the final photo after the fact.

“It’s the most anxiety to get four kids together smiling in a room,” Kardashian West told DeGeneres. “North was having a day, so she refused to be in the shoot. She just was crying because she wanted her specific hairstyle, whatever. I said, ‘Fine you’re not gonna be in the card.’”

The reality star and the rest of her family—husband Kanye West and her youngest three children, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm West—continued on with the shoot sans North. But the six-year-old budding style icon eventually changed her mind after missing out on the family festivity.

“The next day she woke up and was like, ‘Mommy, I really want to do a card,’” continued Kardashian West. “Thank god the photographer was still in town. I called the photographer, had her come over. I said, ‘I have no makeup on now, I look totally different. Let’s just pretend—shoot us, but cut me out and you’ll Photoshop her in.’ And it looks like a beautiful card.”

Kardashian West apparently has no regrets about needing to allow a separate shoot for her firstborn. When it comes to the Kardashian–West brood during the holiday season, the less stress, the better.

“I would’ve rather done it this way than the anxiety of what I went through of trying to get—I mean, Chicago has a cookie in her hand, I was really holding Psalm there, Saint was really there,” she continued. The rest of us were there, but North … that was a lot. There’s always one!”
