Karl-Anthony Towns is positive for coronavirus.
The 25-year-old Minnesota Timberwolves basketball player reveled the heartbreaking news to fans on Instagram.
“I pray every day that this nightmare of a virus will subside and I beg everyone to continue to take it seriously by taking all of the necessary precautions,” Karl shared in his note. “We cannot stop the spread of this virus alone, it must be a group effort by all of us.”
He added, “It breaks my heart that my family, and particularly my father and sister continue to suffer from the anxiety that comes along with this diagnosis as we know all too well what the end result could be.”

The game that was scheduled for tonight, against the Memphis Grizzlies has been postponed and Karl-Anthony will “immediately isolate and follow every protocol.”
The news comes after Karl-Anthony revealed that not only did his mother, Jacqueline Cruz-Towns, pass away from complications, but six other family members have passed away as well.
Just before the holidays, Karl-Anthony opened up about the impact of his mom’s death.
