Both Joanna and Rod attended the Pride Of Britain awards over the weekend, which will be broadcast on ITV tonight at 8pm. The event saw just under a dozen awards handed out to individuals who had acted bravely or extraordinarily in the past year. Most notably, a lifetime achievement award was given to Rosemary Cox, 82, who had successfully campaigned for the first Organ Donor Register in the UK.
The British scientists, who worked 18-hour days at the height of the pandemic to produce the Oxford vaccine, were also recognised at the awards.
The Pride of Britain award winners were selected by a panel of celebrities, while the ceremony itself was hosted by Carol Vorderman and Ashley Banjo.
The event was attended by a host of star studded guests including Prince Charles, England Manager Gareth Southgate, and singer Ed Sheeran.
Joanna and Rod were also likely to have crossed paths on the red carpet with the latter having attended with wife of 14 years, Penny Lancaster.

Joanna and Rod had a short romance in 1973, when Rod was recording his fifth solo album ‘Smiler’.
Joanna explained to the BBC in 2018: “When I was in my late twenties I went out with Rod Stewart for 20 minutes I suppose. No, it was a little bit longer than that.
“He was so fabulous, he [just] had done Maggie May.
“It was at that time when he still wore pink satin suits and drove a Lamborghini and was glamorous.”
In the interview Joanna revealed that Rod recorded a cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘Girl from the North Country’ for the album, and she was one of the first people he played it to.
She said: “I remember him pitching up early one morning ‒ I mean quite late in the early morning ‒ about three or four o’clock.
“He had this track and said, ‘this is for you’. It was ‘Girl from the North Country’ and I adore Bob Dylan.
“To hear Rod singing this fabulous song in his gravelly voice touched me so much.”

She added: “I’ve studied the album and it doesn’t say ‘dedicated to Joanna Lumley’ so you’ve only got my word for it. I could be lying!”
In 2012, Rod explained that Joanna was “one of his past conquests” but joked she was “too upper class” for him.
He explained to The Sun that, though she was “a wonderful, wonderful girl”, she was “far too posh for Rod.”
The Daily Express reported in 2010 that Rod said: “She was a wonderful woman, she was so upper-crust.
“I was actually afraid to talk because Joanna talked awfully wonderfully.
“And I was actually scared to speak to Joanna because I was a North Londoner.”
The singer described Joanna as “wonderful” and admitted that he regretted ending their relationship to chase other women.
He said: “It’s horrible, the only way I can defend myself is I was going through the cards, just trying to find the right woman.”
