Jane McDonald, 56, has made a candid revelation about facing up to mistakes she made in past romances. The Holidaying with Jane McDonald host tied the knot with Henrik Brixen, who she met while filming The Cruise for the BBC, in 1998.
However, the former couple went on to split in 2002 after he became her manager.
In spite of her failed marriage, Jane gushed about finding “the right one” in her partner of 12 years, Ed Rothe.
Speaking to Prima magazine, the TV personality explained: “I’ve had a few mishaps relationship-wise, by god, when you find the right one you certainly know it.”
Praising her fiancé, she added: “I’ve been with Ed for 12 years, that’s a miracle for me! He makes me feel like a teenager again.

“He’s still gorgeous and I can see what I went for all those years ago.”
Jane first dated Ed when they were teenagers and rekindled their romance in 2009.
Reflecting on their romantic history, Jane told the publication: “My other half Ed was my childhood sweetheart. We had those sliding doors moments for years.
“We were in the same places, but we just never met.”
The performer previously opened up to her fellow Loose Women panelists about feeling like she became a “product” after she joined forces with her ex-husband in business.
She recalled being happy about the move at the time, saying: “I signed a record contract, which was amazing, but people started trying to erase working-class me.
“I was told: ‘Stop talking on stage. Divas don’t tell jokes. You’re not a club singer any more’. Soon, Henrik took over as my manager. ‘Thank God for that,’ I thought.”
However, the pair’s relationship suffered due to the decision, as she felt Henrik “stopped looking at her as a wife”.

She continued: “Your manager is your boss and tells you what to do, what to wear and who to be, so our relationship changed.
“I loved him with all my heart, but felt he’d stopped looking at me as a wife. I became a product.”
Discussing their split, Jane admitted: “I couldn’t flourish in a relationship like this.
“Arguments were not only between manager and artist, but also husband and wife. The lines were too blurred.”

Jane recently spoke out about challenges she has overcome in her career on BBC Radio 2’s Tracks Of My Tears.
She told host Gary Davies that her book, Riding the Waves: My Story, was motivated by her desire to share her story with fans.
The star said: “It’s not all been plain sailing, but this industry isn’t.
“I wrote the book because a lot of people were asking me ‘how do you survive?’ and ‘how do you do this?’ and I think you just got to remember why we do it.”
