Deborah James, 40, has spoken out about her experience with incurable bowel cancer. The star has asked about the moment she thought that she’d never see her children again.
Deborah was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer in 2017.
In January, Deborah explained that her family was told that she may not survive the night.
Deborah recalled a moment in which she was “drifting in and out of consciousness” while she was on the phone to the ambulance.
The columnist explained that she was able to speak for a short time before running out of energy to continue.

She added that her daughter saw the scene, and yelled “please save my mummy” down the phone.
After being told that there would be a 30 minute delay, Deborah said her husband Seb “cancelled the ambulance, scooped me up, took me downstairs, and put me in the car,” after returning home and finding her in a nearly unconscious state.
Deborah then continued, explaining the “trauma” of saying goodbye to her children.
She said in her column for The Sun, talking about the situation when she was in hospital: “I knew, or at least I thought, I would never see my children again.
“I can’t describe to you the trauma that now exists, like a broken horror film in my head, of saying goodbye to my children in that split second.
“I had no strength. I had blood all over me.
“All I could say was, ‘I love you – forever’.
“I can’t recall their faces because I started to lose the ability to see, from all the blood I was losing.”
The star added that she felt she was “too young to die.”
She said that when she was in the resuscitation department, her husband was “removed” from the room.
Deborah explained that she was calm and “still” during the operation.
She said she was “in pain” and “sad” and wished for “one more cuddle.”
The star said: “I was still and calm, I wasn’t in pain but I was sad.
“I kept thinking, ‘Why now? Why is this my lot? I’m too young to die.
“‘I just want one more day, one more cuddle, one more sunrise. Why do I need to go this way’?
She also wrote that she was “simply gutted” but didn’t have any regrets, despite being aware she was dying.
In January, Deborah told her You, Me and the Big C podcast listeners that she wanted to push forward new episodes as she feared she wouldn’t be alive in two months.
“I have had, recently, some quite bad news. My health is deteriorating by the day,” she explained.
“I genuinely turned around and said, ‘I don’t think I’m going to be alive in March if it carries on the way it’s going’.”
The 40-year-old added to this, saying she wanted to “kick start” her new series and was praying she’d get to the end.
