I paid £200 for my Taylor Swift ticket and now I’m being told I can’t go – because the seat’s behind the stage!’: Swifties blast Ticketmaster after discovering they’re NOT going to sell-out Wembley gig in latest humiliation for ticket site
- Tickets have been refunded because the unavailable seats are behind the stage
- Many fans, known as ‘Swifties’, have already paid for travel and accommodation
Thousands of Taylor Swift fans have been left devastated after being told that seats they bought for their Eras gig at Wembley are not available.
Tickets costing around £200 which they bought via Ticketmaster have been refunded because the seats are unavailable as they are behind the stage.
The fans – known as ‘Swifties’ – were told that the tickets should never have been sold in the first place. While they did get their money back, they have been left unable to go to the sell-out concerts at Wembley Stadium next year.
Many have already paid for travel and accommodation.
Superfan Georgia Hanson, 17, from Borehamwood, London saved money from working in a pub to join her friends in August next year and celebrate their A-Level results at the concert.

Her mother, Emma Hanson, said: ‘When she and her friends found out their seats didn’t exist, they were so angry and upset.
‘They had planned outfits and had a countdown set up as the screensaver on their phones.’
Georgia is Taylor Swift ‘obsessed’ having written a musical about the star and made over 100 friendship bracelets to give out at the Wembley concert – which she still plans on doing but outside the arena.
Her mother said: ‘She’d had the whole family trying to get these tickets as it was also her 18th birthday present.
‘We felt so lucky when we got her one but now she’s spent seven weeks chasing Ticketmaster with no response.’

Swifties accused Ticketmaster of ‘not being proactive’ and instead of contacting those who have bought tickets to tell them that the seats cannot be used, they have waited for fans to chase them.
It is the latest issue for Ms Swift who was also left irritated when the Ticketmaster website crashed in July when they were trying to purchase pre-sale tickets for two shows at London’s Wembley Stadium and three shows in Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium.
Technical glitches caused by the overwhelming mass of Swifties flocking to the site meant many were left feeling hard-done-by and ticketless. Thousands of fans were also kicked out of the queue of more than 20,000 people.
The Eras Tour is due to hit the UK in June next year. Starting in Edinburgh, the star will travel to Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium, then to Cardiff and finish at Wembley in mid-August where she will continue on to Dublin.
