Lucy Alexander, 48, presented Homes Under The Hammer with Martin Roberts when it first began in 2003 but quit the Channel 4 show following 13 years. She now fronts consumer programme The Customer Is Always Right on BBC One.
But the star joked her TV career is now “buggered” after her friend said shows need to stop pretending moments are “impromptu”.
Her pal wrote: “TV shows where a presenter pops into a shop, or knocks on a door, and we’re supposed to think it’s impromptu, but there’s already a camera inside filming them coming in, will come to be seen as a definingly naff and condescending feature of TV in this generation.”(sic)
Lucy replied: “That’s me buggered then !!!!!”
She didn’t seem too annoyed by his indirect message as she wished him a Happy New Year.

Her friend replied: “And to you mate (and by the way you deffo were not in the show that prompted those comments!) Big to you and yours.”
Meanwhile, Lucy appeared in the mood to reminisce yesterday as she shared a throwback picture to her Instagram account.
She shared a photo from early on in her career where she presented a travel show with co-star Glen Thompsett.
The mother-of-two looked to have barely aged a day in the old snap, as she sported the same blonde hairstyle.

It’s not always joyous to look back over the decade. I’ve had some wonderful high points but also some very low ones. Here’s to health and happiness moving forward. It’s the most important thing of all. Lots of laughter & Joy on order for 2020. Happy New Year to all sending so much love. ❤️

“Looking bac Lol,” she wrote on the image. “Early travel show presenting days with @glenthompsett.”
Before 2020 began, Lucy reflected on the last decade and told her fans she’s had some “wonderful” moments but also some “very low ones”.
The host uploaded nine images to showcase the past 10 years, which included an image of her and Martin presenting Homes Under The Hammer to a selfie.
Others featured her two children, one of her son Leo wearing an England football kit and another of her daughter Kitty lying in a hospital bed.
Kitty has been in a wheelchair for the past night years as she has Transverse Myelitis, which caused her immune system to attack her spinal cord.
Another photo showed Lucy posing with her husband ex-Premier League footballer Stewart Castledine alongside their two children.
She captioned the group of photos: “It’s not always joyous to look back over the decade.
“I’ve had some wonderful high points but also some very low ones. Here’s to health and happiness moving forward. It’s the most important thing of all.
