TV presenter Kirstie Allsopp, 50, took to Twitter to implore people not to “worry” about the Queen’s Covid diagnosis as the 95-year-old monarch experiences “mild cold-like symptoms”.
Kirstie urged her 426,000 followers: “I really hope the news that HM The Queen has Covid does not worry everyone too much, and I suspect she’d feel the same.
“Her Majesty is so beloved, but the vaccines work to prevent death and serious illness, and now there are brilliant treatments too.
“Get Well Soon ER II️.”
Dozens of users took to the comments to share their thoughts and wish Her Majesty well.
Neil said: “The Queen is made of strong stuff. She would survive a nuclear blast. There is no way she will let Covid get the better of her!”
Anthony penned: “I hope you are right. HM has been looking quite frail recently so hoping she will have the strength to fight it off.”
Another, named Peter, took the opportunity to poke fun at the recent controversy regarding Kirstie’s views on house buying.
He quipped: “There’s someone who doesn’t need to cancel her Netflix subscription.”
Buckingham Palace announced that the Queen has tested positive earlier today.
A spokesperson assured is experiencing “mild” symptoms and still expects to carry out “light duties” throughout the week.
A statement read: “Buckingham Palace confirm that The Queen has today tested positive for Covid.
“Her Majesty is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms but expects to continue light duties at Windsor over the coming week.

“She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines.”
The Queen’s positive test comes after she was in close contact with Prince Charles when he had the virus.
Other famous faces have spoken out to share their concern for the Queen.
Piers Morgan wrote in view of his 7.9 million followers: “Wishing Her Majesty, The Queen a full and speedy recovery from Covid.
“Worrying for any 95-year-old person to catch this virus, and a very worrying time for Britain when it’s our Monarch. Good luck, Ma’am.”
Gary Lineker also shared his well-wishes, saying: “The Queen has tested positive for Covid. Wish her a speedy and full
Deborah Meaden penned: “Wishes that Covid will be kinder to the Queen than it has so many and sending hopes for a full and fast recovery.”
And Dan Wootton said: “On today, like every day, God save the Queen. Have full faith she will be fine.”
