Gethin Jones returns to our screens this week to The One Show and as a contestant on Celebrity Masterchef. But while Gethin is a well-known face on our screens what is known of the presenter’s love life behind the scenes?

Is Gethin Jones married?

Gethin is not currently married and is reported to be single.

The 42-year-old was previously engaged to welsh singer Katherine Jenkins.

The pair are reported to have met in 2005 after Katherine appeared on Blue Peter which Gethin was presenting on the time.

They went on to date and two years later in 2007 confirmed they were officially an item.

Gethin popped the question in 2010, but after just one year the couple were reported to have split in 2011.

In 2014, Gethin opened up to The Daily Mail on their split: “It was really nice. A really pleasant experience that I massively enjoyed.

“But I am very respectful of the fact that she has moved on, and I wouldn’t come between that. I want to be dignified about the situation – a gentleman.”

Gethin later explained his plans to get married in the future.

He added: “All I want to do now is meet someone, get married, have a big family, be a good father.”

Katerine has also spoken publically about their break up in 2014 to Wales Online.

Katherine told the publication: “At the end of 2011 when Gethin and I broke up, the reality of it was that about two weeks later I had to go on a UK tour where every night I’m singing songs of heartbreak and every day just trying to find the energy to cope let alone going on stage and understand his reason for doing it.

With Gethin reported to be single back in April, Alex Jones was seen to give an insight into his love life.

While talking about virtual dating on The One Show together, Alex asked: “Did you click?

“Because you did a little virtual date, didn’t you, with cooking.”

Gethin red-faced responded: “You said you wouldn’t mention this!”

Later in the show, Gethin admitted: “I did a cooking date virtually – and it lasted for hours.”
