First Dates star Merlin Griffiths appears to have been discharged from hospital just days after going under the knife.
Merlin, 46, was tragically diagnosed with bowel cancerlast year, but refused to let the illness get the better of him.
Over the weekend the father-of-oneshared a snap from his hospital bedwhere he said that while he had some “aches and pains”, he was officially tumour-free.
Since then, Merlin has been discharged from hospital just days after his life-saving surgery.
Sharing another selfie of himself surrounded by blue skies, he wrote to his 63,000 Instagram followers: “And breathe. 6 days, start to finish. Now for real #cancer recovery. I've had open laparotomies before and the recovery was 6 weeks in hospital before robotic surgery!! Amazing.”
Theso-called robotic surgeryhe had involved Merlin's surgeons controlling the arms of a machine with four limbs.
Holding surgical tools and a camera, they then conducted the surgery by watching inside the star's body via a magnified screen.
Dozens of Merlin’s fans have since wished him a speedy recovery.
Fellow First Dates star David Marc wrote: “Fantastic! Love you merl!!" followed by two red heart emojis, as someone else said: “Now rest up and get well xx”.

“Wishing you all the best with your recovery, my wife is three months out of chemo for hodgkins lymphoma. Just take every day as it comes,” added someone else, while a fourth person penned: “Wishing you all the best for your recovery Merlin. Thanks for sharing your journey through this – it will help many people.”
In September last year, Merlin recalled the difficult moment he had to tell his seven year old daughter that he had cancer.
“I said, ‘Dad’s got cancer’. She said, ‘Is that bad, Dad?’,” he recalled to theSunday Mirror.
“I said, ‘Yes, it’s very serious but I think it should be OK. Modern medicine’s great and if anything changes I’ll let you know.'
“She understands that people can die but I told her cancer comes in different varieties and in different ways too – and that many people come through it.”
While he put on a brave face for his little girl, the 46 year old admitted that after he got the harrowing news he “shed a tear in private”.
