“Sex and the City” star Cynthia Nixon isn’t bummed out that her pal Mayor de Blasio dropped out of the 2020 presidential race, she told Page Six.
Nixon was an early and loyal support of de Blasio, who pulled the plug on his ill-fated presidential bid in September.
The 53-year-old actress, who herself launched an unsuccessful bid in New York to unseat Gov. Andrew Cuomo in 2018, has not announced which Democratic presidential candidate she’ll endorse.
“I’m not supporting anyone yet,” she told us at Wednesday night’s Broadway opening of “My Name is Lucy Barton,” starring her old “Little Foxes” co-star Laura Linney. “We’ll see, we’ve got a while.”
Ben Shenkman, Julie White and Margaret Colin were also on hand for the Manhattan Theater Club production.
Interestingly Blythe Danner — Gwyneth Paltrow’s mom — attended but decided to skip the red carpet. Perhaps she didn’t want to be questioned about the unusual candle fragrance her daughter’s Goop site is hawking these days.
