Craig Ferguson says it took him a while to figure out his priorities.
“My wife and children are the length and breadth of my riches,” he told Kathie Lee Gifford at a 92nd Street Y panel. “There is nothing else. It took me a long time to understand that. It’s very ‘Wizard of Oz’: ‘It was here all along, Dorothy’ . . . but it kind of is. I’m frustrated that I’d been hearing that for so long and couldn’t hear it, but it is the truth. I wanted things for so long — kudos and money, I’m ashamed to say it, and fame and success and things.”
Ferguson has a new book out, “Riding the Elephant: A Memoir of Altercations, Humiliations, Hallucinations and Observations.” He hosted “The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson” from 2005 to 2014.
