Having grown used to being a target of criticism, the ‘My Heart Will Go On’ hitmaker points out that she can’t please everybody, and that she needs to focus on what’s right for her instead.
AceShowbiz –Celine Dion has hit back at those who have accused her of being too thin, insisting there’s “nothing wrong” with her body.
The 51-year-old singer has attracted criticism in recent months for her svelte frame. However, the “My Heart Will Go On” star was asked about her slender physique in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, and asked the rhetorical “Is there anything wrong about my body?” as she flexed her bicep.
Celine also added that she has grown used to being a target for criticism during her many years in the entertainment industry, explaining: “If you don’t want to be criticised, you are in the wrong place. I take the positive. I take what’s good for me. I leave behind what is not good for me”.
“I let my management take care of that, and if it hurts anyone, they will take care of that. And I need to focus on what’s right for me, how I feel and, last but not least, you can’t please everybody”.
The mother-of-three also insisted that her lithe appearance is nothing new, telling the outlet: “I do ballet. I do a lot of stretching and I work out because it helps my mind, body and soul. When you go back, when I was 12 years old, my face was rounder because you have more fat when you’re younger… But I’ve always been very thin”.
