Carol Vorderman, 58, who has been a host of the Pride of Britain awards for the past two decades, since she made her debut in 1999, has had her fair share of hits and misses at the event. The former Countdown presenter has now admitted she was not aware of how “busty” her outfit was when she attended the ceremony in 2010 and added she usually prefers to be “well covered” for the bash. Speaking to OK! magazine, the Channel 4 favourite took a moment to recall previous ensembles she has worn at the Pride of Britain and revealed she is not someone who likes to show everything. Carol told the publication: “I loved the white lace floor-length dress I wore [in 2014]. It covered everything – as the host, I think I should be well covered.
“There was one black corset dress [in 2010] which I didn’t realise was quite as busty as it was! I don’t like to show anything off on Pride of Britain.”
The annual awards, which are screened on ITV, sees Carol take to the stage to honour the UK’s unsung heroes.
The Pride of Britain Awards recognises those people who’ve acted with bravery or who’ve helped improve the lives of others.
Carol will soon be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the award ceremony this coming autumn.
The mother-of-two has also attended the event in the past with her children; Cameron King, 22, and Katie King, 28.
Meanwhile, the small-screen star recently appeared on the BBC’s The One Show alongside her daughter as the pair discussed NASA.
Katie, who is currently studying for her PHD in Nanotechnology at Cambridge University, showed off her presenting skills in the segment.
Carol took a moment to share a series of snaps of the lookalike pair together from their time in Texas on the micro-blogging site yesterday.
In one photo, the pair are stood together in front of a swimming pool and in a second photo, the duo took a selfie shot.
In view of Carol’s 404,000 Twitter followers, she captioned the snap: “So mother and daughter on @bbctheoneshow again tonight…Inc what goes on in the “Tank” where astronauts train underwater for spacewalks… look at the size of that swimming pool…I got vertigo looking down into it…”
Fans flocked to comment on the photos, with some saying the pair looked more like sisters than mother and daughter.
