Cardi B reacted sharply to Rep. Glenn Grothman‘s criticism of her “WAP” performance during the Grammy awards last month with Megan Thee Stallion.
Speaking on the House floor, the Republican congressman from Wisconsin said he has received complaints in his office about Cardi B’s performance, describing it as “inconsistent with basic decency.”
The rapper questioned how lawmakers find her Grammys performance on March 14 more problematic than ongoing incidents of police brutality targeting Black Americans.
“This gets me so mad ya don’t even know! I think we all been on the edge this week since we seen police brutality back to back including watching one of the biggest case in history go down due to police brutality but wait ! This is what state representative decide to talk about,” the rapper wrote on Twitter last week.
