Caitlyn Jenner has Kanye West‘s back!
The legendary hero of the Olympics went on Good Morning Britain to kick off the new week, and the rapper’s presidential campaign and current mental health state were among the many topics covered in her 12-minute-long virtual chat with the show.
The 70-year-old was in a good mood for the casual talk on Monday, joking with the hosts about her infamous reality TV adventures abroad and updating everyone on her day-to-day life and vastly-improved golf game amid this endless period of self-isolation to combat the coronavirus pandemic. But it’s what she said about the 43-year-old Chicago native that really caught our attention!
First speaking about a joke she’d made about being Kanye’s Vice President after he announced his candidacy in the 2020 election, the I Am Cait star quickly voiced her praise for Kim Kardashian West‘s embattled husband. She also noted she hadn’t spoken to him personally in quite a while, saying:
“Since all of this has come down, I have just kind of watched it like everybody else. I haven’t really had a chance . He’s living in Wyoming most of the time. I just wish him the best. I made that as a joke, about being his VP when he announced. But I hope for the best for him. He’s a really good guy.”
Jenner wasn’t done there, either — clearly intent on spreading good vibes during the morning show interview, her effusive praise of the Jesus Walks rapper continued:
“The only thing I can talk about is really how he treated me through everything, and he has been the most kind, loving human being and so good to me throughout the years and especially going through everything I’ve been going through in the last five years. He’s been such a good friend. He has been extremely supportive. Kanye has got a big heart. … He’s a good person.”
Though perhaps an unlikely pair on paper, the retired decathlete and the world-famous fashion designer have long had an interesting, close connection. Back in 2015, Kanye was one of the first (and most unexpected) people to really publicly praise Caitlyn for her work on I Am Cait following her infamous transition.
More recently, in 2018, West revealed text message screenshots showing he’d continued to maintain a friendship with Caitlyn even after Kim low-key pushed the controversial conservative outside of the KarJenner circle following her poorly-received tell-all book about the famous reality TV family.
With all this praise and support back and forth, there’s clearly a connection between Kanye and Caitlyn, no matter what may go on around them! Something about how opposites attract, maybe? Or perhaps they align politically on many conservative issues, and the connection has only grown from there?? Hey, whatever works to maintain the friendship, ya know?
