Simon Rex shares that some British tabloids reached out to him following reports which states that he ‘ruined his chances’ with her after she discovered he was allegedly an adult film star.
AceShowbiz –Meghan Markle‘s former co-star Simon Rex recently spilled the tea about how eager the British media to ruin the Duchess of Sussex’s reputation. Simon, who starred alongside Meghan in 2005’s “Cuts“, revealed that some tabloids offered him money for him to lie about their history.
Talking about his relationship with the wife of Prince Harry, he said on the “Hollywood Raw” podcast, “Nothing happened. We never even kissed. It was just, like, we hung out once in a very non-dated way. She was just someone I had met on a TV show and we got lunch. That was the extent of it.”
He then shared that some British tabloids reached out to him following reports from The Sun which stated that he “ruined his chances” with her after she discovered he was allegedly an adult film star. “When that story broke, a couple British tabloids offered to pay me a lot of money to say a lie that we actually hooked up,” he recalled. “I said no to a lot of money because I didn’t feel right lying and f***ing up the royal f***ing family.”
After joining the British royal family, Meghan has been the victim of “relentless propaganda” done by British media. That led Meghan and Prince Harry, who announced their exit from the British royal family in January, to file lawsuit in October 2019 over misuse of private information, infringement of copyright and breach of the Data Protection Act 2018, claiming the Mail on Sunday in particular has caused his wife and members of their family pain with false published information.
“My wife has become one of the latest victims of a British tabloid press that wages campaigns against individuals with no thought to the consequences – a ruthless campaign that has escalated over the past year, throughout her pregnancy and while raising our newborn son,” Harry’s statement read.
“There is a human cost to this relentless propaganda, specifically when it is knowingly false and malicious, and though we have continued to put on a brave face – as so many of you can relate to – I cannot begin to describe how painful it has been. Because in today’s digital age, press fabrications are repurposed as truth across the globe…” it continued.
It added, “For these select media this is a game, and one that we have been unwilling to play from the start. I have been a silent witness to her private suffering for too long. To stand back and do nothing would be contrary to everything we believe in… We won’t and can’t believe in a world where there is no accountability for this.”
