In case you forgot due to 2021 already being a messy blur, Ariana Grande and her boyfriend Dalton Gomez officially got engaged in December—but apparently her friends have some concerns about how fast they’re moving.

“They’re very in love right now,” a source tells Entertainment Tonight, adding “But friends think the engagement was somewhat rushed and are skeptical that the relationship will ultimately be short lived.”

Eeek, that doesn’t sound great—but as of now, the source says “Ariana and Dalton have been spending a ton of time together since getting engaged and keeping things pretty low key and private. They’re mainly keeping to themselves and just enjoying their time together.”

As a reminder, Ariana dropped the news of her engagement on December 20 with the simple Instagram caption: “Forever n then some.”

Ari’s mom Joan Grande immediately took it to Twitter to voice her excitement about the news, writing “I am so excited to welcome Dalton Gomez into our family! Ariana, I love you and Dalton so much!!!! Here’s to happily ever after! YAY! xoxoxo.”
