Ant McPartlin ‘leaves neighbours and conservationists FUMING after applying to chop down ‘healthy trees’ spoiling view from his £7M mansion’
Ant McPartlin has left conservationists fuming after applying to chop down trees which he claims are spoiling the view from from his £7M London mansion.
The TV personality, 47, and wife Anne-Marie Corbett, 46, plan fell the ‘healthy trees’ despite them being subject to preservation orders and objections from neighbours.
According to The Sun the couple hope to cut down four cypress trees, a Weymouth pine and a yew from outside their swanky seven-bedroom home.
The publication reports that in one letter of objection neighbours claim the famous couple wish to cut down the trees ‘on a whim’ with ‘no justification’.
‘No justification is given for felling these substantial trees, other than the applicant’s wish to allow re-landscaping of part of her garden.

‘There is no suggestion that any of the trees are dangerous or diseased.
‘The personal whim of the applicant should not override the benefit to the community and the environment in retaining these trees’.

The three-storey luxury home in Wimbledon, south London, boasts five reception rooms, a large open-plan kitchen, cinema, sun room, larder, walk-in wardrobe, study and office.
Ant and Anne-Marie bought the pad in 2018 but did not move in until renovations costing £1.6million were carried out. They have since added a swimming pool complete with Victorian-style changing rooms.
In May Ant lost his battle with planners to build an ‘imposing’ garage and granny annex on the mansion.
The Saturday Night Takeaway host wanted to demolish an existing double car port to build a garage with accommodation in the roof.
But officials at the local council rejected the proposed development, saying it would have an ‘unacceptable’ impact on the designated conservation area.

He was previously given the go-ahead for a car port canopy in his front garden and masked his identity when he applied for planning permission by using the name of a boozy love cheat from his favourite novel.
The host changed his name to a fictitious British writer Logan Mountstuart whose story was told in 2002 novel Any Human Heart by William Boyd.
But in revised plans submitted to the local council, he applied for permission for a double garage at the seven-bedroom Arts and Crafts-style home he shares with wife Anne-Marie Corbett, who he tied the knot with in 2021.
In a design statement, McPartlin’s planning agent said: ‘This proposal is for the replacement of the existing car port with a new garage with room in the roof space.
‘The replaced garage will occupy the same footprint as the existing car port and the ridge of the new roof will be approximately 1.25m higher than the existing double ridge but will have a slightly smaller mass.
‘The proposals… do not have a negative impact on the area or the amenity of neighbouring houses and is in keeping with the scale and character of the adjacent houses and conservation area.’
